Casa Loma - Toronto, ON

Casa Loma means "castle by the hill", built by the Canadian financier Sir Henry Mill Pellatt in the early 1900's. He is one of the richest businessman in his time and built the biggest house in Toronto.

After he lost his fortune from bad investments, he sold the Casa Loma to the Canadian government and auctioned off the rest of the furniture.

Exterior & Garden area

This reminds me of Scottish castle. You are allowed to climb up the servants area up to the tower.

Interiors

First view you see from the entrance.

It has an indoor garden complete with glass ceiling and fountain.

Casa Loma has been a popular set on period drama movies. It also has an extensive underground maze that connect the main house to the stables. If you are visiting the property, take the house tour, it would take you to the upstairs and take marvel on modern bathroom conveniences. It was the first to have the hot and cold shower of its time. Also, take notice the opulence how grand the house was at its peak.

If you are in Toronto, Canada, make sure to visit this castle. It is easily accessible by taking the subway, if you are driving, there is a parking available for a fee.
