Was it worth it?

If you are all tuned up with the media, you probably heard the new Apple product lauch aptly called the iPad. Almost everyone I talked mentioned it. The business world is all abuzz about the projected stock prices of how this new gadget would change the world. The techies were excited as the skeptics were not.
I haven't seen a real one yet but I can sense that it look like a giant iTouch. It has the same capabilities with the added feature to be able to read and buy books. It aimed to compete with Amazon's Kindle and Barnes & Nobles's Nook. It cost about $499 a price that can buy a nice compact laptop.

Ten years ago, I tried to keep up with technology so when the new Palm came out. I went on and buy myself one. It had cost me about $300. The dock it came with had a USB port, a new technology at the time that could only found at new computers. This meant that I have to get a dock that would be compatible with the old yeller. It added another $60 for the new dock.

How long did I used my Palm Pilot? Only about a year or so. I felt that I wasn't able to fully utilized it. Maybe there were rare times that I was able to exhange contact information with a fellow colleague with a Palm Pilot. After a while, I left it at home and never carried it eversince.

Looking back, I could have done so many things on my $360 instead of wasting it on a gadget that now is similar to a paper weight. I am not even sure how to dispose it. It is in good condition and still works but it adds up with my useless clutter. I hope somebody can snag it in Ebay.
