My Dream House

In my down days, I always dream of owning a small beachfront house that has unlimited wi-fi access in a tropical country that has a year round beach weather and free of typhoons. Is there such a place?

While on honeymoon about two years ago, we went to an off the beaten path beach. It is an isolated beach area since it is lined with multi-million dollar houses. I was told that in Hawaii, all beaches must have public access. There is no such thing as a private beach. In Waikiki, if you look real hard in those concrete jungle, it would lead you access to one of the most popular beach in the world.

Based on the Frommer's advice as one of the best Hawaii experience was to visit the off beaten path in the Windward Coast called Lanikai. I agree that this is one of the best beach that we been so far. The sand is fine. It has a mountain view. The water is a clear turquoise. The waves are mild that is perfect for the kids. I fell in love with this place.

While we leisure walk from Kailua to Lanikai, I am admiring most of the beachfront houses. You would be able to tell that those were expensive and well kept houses. One house got me so impressed that I regret not seeing the backyard from the beach.

Two years later, we were back in Honolulu. We went back to Lanikai. Guess what? The house of my dreams is for sale. Yeah, for a cool $8 million! I guess, I would be forever admiring this house. Remind me to buy a lotto ticket.

Here are the photos that I got from the realtor website.

Inside Balinese Lanai.

It has a good mountainview from the backyard.

View from above. Look at the clear water.

Its like looking from an ever changing painting.

I can imagine waking up with this view everyday.

I can take my lazy mornings here.

With all the beach access at the back, do they need a pool?

With these well manicured lawn, I am throwing a luau!

Tell me about it. I'd happily settle for beachfront shack in Kailua or Kaneohe over a penthouse in NY any day, though.

Well, just don't forget to invite us on your shack. :p

Visiting Hawaii makes me question my life choices and wonder if I should've pursued a more mobile career....like say, nursing. :P Or maybe I could just become one of those bums who set up a tent on the beach and call it home.

No sense to question yourself. Just try to find a path that fits your lifestyle.

Hang in there!
