Museum of Modern Art - Part 1 2008

There was a time that I pass by this place on my way to work. I usually see the long lines of people hoping to get in first thing it opens in the morning. For the longest time, I have been avoiding this place. Modern contemporary art doesn't seem to catch my interest. Its probably not my cup of tea. Maybe I don't understand art enough.

Looking at some of the works reminded me why I avoided this museum. There were some works that I can't comprehend. The first two floors have questionable pieces but the rest has some interesting take on designs.

This room has the label of "Ventilator". It is an electric fan attached from the ceiling and it swings above head. It is supposed to show an ever changing arc as it circles around.

This work is called Articulated Lair. The artist want to show that the lair can be a safe haven as well as a cage. Only 5 people are allowed at a time inside.

The label states that the artist did attempt to mix femininity and masculinity. The stocking shows the feminine side while the suspenders and boots were for the masculine side.

Next post would be some of the gems that I found at the MoMA.
