Day 16: Oahu

Wednesday.

As expected, our morning was wasted on packing. J wants to check out earlier than the noon time check out time so he does't need to put money on the meter.

Since it is our last day in the island, we decided to have a pricey breakfast across the street. I have been wanting to eat at Halekulani Hotel. The formal dining area has a dress code. Jackets are mandatory. I opted to a more casual setting for a breakfast at the lanai called House without a Key. It is a typical breakfast buffet that has the same staples as bacon, eggs, ham, fruits etc. The only difference was they have a section that has miso soup and some tofu. The service was spotless. Well, the bill came up to $60. This is the only splurge we have since we came here, well that, and the shaved ice from Tropical Ice.

This is the view you would see from the beach.

It is the best hotel in town located in front of the Beachwalk area. I have been admiring this hotel from the beach. From my research, it usually charges at least $500 a night. Yikes.

Afterwards, we head over to the Ala Moana Mall and walk around till its time to go back to the airport. We made sure to snack at the food court since it will be a 6 hour red eye flight to Los Angeles. We are supposed to be landing in LAX around 6 am.

Tomorrow, we are starting our road trip and leisurely drive over north of California all the way to San Francisco.

I am jealous of Maddie's hula monkey t-shirt...I want one too! I knew I should've gotten that hula monkey beach towel from ABC when I had the chance.
