Madz at Chichen Itza

As I continue my photo housekeeping, I stumbled some videos that I didn't remember taking from our last trip to Cancun. We went there 2 years ago about a week before the holidays. I remember getting a text message from a friend telling me that it snowed the day after we left. I still remember the warmth of the sun once we got out of the airport.

Madison was 14 months old and just started walking at that time. We didn't even have proper shoes for her since she was wearing snow boots when we left. It took us a while to find the right shoe that would fit her small feet. Most of the sandals we saw have flimsy or had leather soles. We were lucky to get the last of the smallest pair of (imitation) crocs from a nearby warehouse outlet.

The video was taken at the most popular archeological site in Mexico, The Chichen Itza. We made an effort to wake up at the crack of dawn so we can be one of the first people at the site. It was peaceful to walk around and take pictures around the grounds of El Castillo while the vendors are still setting up shop. Once the sun has set, the heat can be intense. By the time the bus loads of people has started to walk in, we were ready to move on to our next destination.

She does walk like Charlie Chaplin. I am glad I found it.
