Korea Series: Our favorite place

Nothing beats like a family ran restaurant with such great food. Were supposed to be in the city for 10 days and we like to try and eat at a new place everyday. Given that you are in Seoul, there has to be a place to eat or a convenience store every 200 meters. But it so happens that the food we ordered at this place is so good that we decided to eat here again before we have to catch our flight back home.

We came here one weekend night. We came in early and from the time we got our order, it suddenly got busy. We were first seated by an older lady, probably the mother. She gave us a menu in Korea but we gestured to have an English or picture menu. The daughter came over and helped us chose are order. When our food came, she was nice enough to take the bones out of the soup. The son helped out too by refilling our ban-chans. He gave me another set of kimchi platter. I didn't realize that they charge you for more rice but they would refill the sides for free.

A small cozy place with only a few tables. This place gets very busy during weekends. Most of them grill meat and drinking their soju.

We ordered only 2 items, one beef soup, it reminds me of a Korean version of "nilaga". The other was a sweet mixture of cellophane noodles, short ribs and rice cake. My sister tells me that it reminds her one of our grandma's favorite dish - "humba". Both are consistently good even the second time we ordered the same meal.

Unfortunately, we don't know the name of the place (just refer to the first photo above) but it is easily located across Yeungdeungpo station. The front signage did say BBQ Fusion House.

Once you cross the station, it would be on your left side. Items we ordered is number 1 and 3 on the menu. I know its a really vague description but without a translator, we just remember this place by memory. Speaking of which, all this suddenly makes me hungry.
