Korea series: Paris Baguette Cafe

This place is one of the countless coffee franchises in the country. It is so happened that we don't want to start our day with an expensive cup of coffee that we opted to look for a coffee shop outside the hotel. The coffee at this cafe is not cheap but reasonable enough that we start our day getting breakfast at the same shop for the next 7 days.

Since we seem to be forever in jet lag, we started our day way too early that the cafe employees just barely opened the store. We could smell bread baking and we ended up getting fresh baked goods right off the oven. I have tried some of their hamburger sliders and pizza bread but my favorite was the cream cheese pastry. It is a light bread with cream cheese inside and some shaved almonds on top for crunch. I liked it so much that I made sure to hand carry it to snack on the plane.

A typical day at the bakery. If you want to eat something "heavy" they have pre-made sandwiches and occasional hamburger sliders. On the front was the favorite round cream cheese pastry, hot right off the oven. It is still warm to wrap in plastic.

And while I am waiting for my coffee, some cake eye candy to stare on. Once or twice, I might have mumbled out on the idea of hand carrying one (or two) going home. I doubt that the cake would survive the screening process or the overhead compartment.

Overloading in cuteness. The little one would get a kick out of this.

More Korea series posts coming...next would be about the COEX, the largest underground mall in Seoul and the Kids Expo at the exhibition hall.
