Penelope

In lieu of Valentines Day, the local library had a whole set of romantic movies lined up the on video wall. Most of them I've seen before, some are familiar, some are not--appealing. One movie got my attention, not because its interesting but it stars somebody that I don't usually see on rom-com movies. When you see a serious actor doing something lighthearted with a hint of fantasy, its worth checking it out. I wasn't disappointed, James McAvoy can be the ultimate dreamboat. I think he is now.

Penelope is the story of a young girl from a privileged and wealthy family that was born with a pig snout. Legend has it a witch after a tragic event, put a curse to her family generations ago. To overturn the curse, she has to find someone of noble birth to love her.

Far fetched, I know. It had a great start till a scheme of unveiling turns thin. It's still worth watching it even if you are pining for pretty boy McAvoy.
