Best. Episode. Ever. MadMen Season 5, Episode 11
Did someone see this coming? Nothing romantic has happened here. It was a protege saying goodbye to someone she regards highly and has helped her through since she started working with as a secretary. She offered to shake his hand but the often cool as breeze Don was shocked by her news of her leaving the company, turns it around and quietly kissed her hand - really slowly. I was shocked. Utterly stunned. I don't want to read more into this gesture but as least we know he wasn't at all happy. Afterwards, he recovers and told her that there were other people who could fill the gap. I guess that his farewell to her.
One last look from Peggy while waiting at the elevator. I hope she was hoping that Don would follow her till the end. At this point, I was holding my breath hoping he comes running around to beg her to stay. The elevator came and Peggy gets in. I felt stupid thinking Mad Men should have some sort of a fairy tale moment but they already did that when Don asked his Au Pair to marry him. Crap! I want the Peggy fairy tale.
