Photoblog: NYC Japan Soul Food Festival 2010

A continuation from the previous post, below are photos from the streetfair Japan Soul Food Festival 2010 in New York City.

For the kiddies, main staples of Japan themed streetfairs.

Lovely Kimonos.

Maekake = Aprons

I wonder what was he explaining to her, they were talking in Japanese.

I am not sure how it works, he asks her questions then closes his eyes then went to write.

Those were Bamboo lanterns. Pretty, no?

Everyone seem to stare at him at the streetfair. I noticed that most of the folks at the booth seem to give him a polite talk and a quick bow. They all greeted him with warm familiarity and respect. At his front chest, he has a sign that he is from the Japanese circus. Oh that explains it!

The costume is not complete without the short and long swords.
