Philippine Parade 2009 - New York City

This is my first time attending the Philippine parade in NYC, the parade started in Madison Avenue between 42nd street and 23rd streets. It is the grandest parade compared to the ones in NJ and CT, it usually draws the biggest crowd from the tri-state area. It also boasts high profile visitors such as the Philippine Vice President, Noli De Castro and celebrities like Jay-R and dreamboat Dingdong Dantes.

Fried food, yum!

Sago gulaman & mellon

Those bags got me tempted, it costs $35 each.
It was a good idea to skip the parade and head over to the food stalls over at 23rd street. While the parade are still ongoing, the lines at the food stalls were tolerable and food are still fresh.
Word of caution, don't come hungry on this festivals, you won't be sure if you will be able to get any food at all. Waiting on the lines under the heat can be intense and worse, once you have all your food, there is no place to eat nor sit to enjoy your food.

These photos made me miss my favorite food! I'm dreaming of laing, kare-kare and the unbeatable fresh Philippine mango.

It never fails, it makes me hungry too whenever I stare at them.
