9th Avenue Food Fest 2010 - New York, NY

This is one of my favorite streetfairs in NYC. Most of the vendors were restaurants in the same block but majority of them were entrepreneurial folks who want to show off their wares.

This year I am intent on looking for new food items that weren't there last year. Maybe try something I am not familiar with. The same vendors were still there but what I noticed that it has less flair than last year but it hasn't lost its charm.

Here are some of the new items that I saw this year:.

Sicilian Rice Balls. I tried the Shrimp & Curry, it was good and crunchy.

So, London food is supposed to be pastries?

New kids on the block.

Samosas are always a hit!

Pine nut pastry, it is carribean.

A new stall this year, they have interesting flavors.

There weren't new but those Argentinian fare are my favorite. I still have to try the restaurant for a fancy and good sit down meal. Those sliced skirt was astounding when you use that green sauce, chimichurri.

I wasn't able to take more photos unlike last year. It was a windy day out and most of the food were covered with wraps which is hard to take a quick picture. Well, till next year, I hope to find more interesting food finds.

I live on 9th Ave and somehow miss this street fair every year. Which Argentinean restaurant is that? I haven't had good luck finding any better than mediocre Argentinean restaurants in Manhattan.

The fair is usually around mid-May and starts at Port Authority & 9th Ave. I'll put in mind to tell you next year.

It is Chimichurri on 43rd & 9th. Let me know how it is if you happened to eat there.

Ah, yes, I've actually been there once. The food was very good, much better than other Argentinean places I've been to in NY (, but it was a little expensive, so I haven't been back. It's a small place, but very nice, though a little old school. The best ones are supposed to be in Queens, though I haven't been.
