Playtime NYC 2012

We made a point to stop by one of the major trade shows in New York City called Playtime New York. They are small in terms of size compared to ENK Children's club yet they reach an international market. The current collections displayed are for the Fall/Winter season 2012/2013.

Hard to miss it. Look for the balloons.

The pop up shop where you could purchase the items on display.

The display is called Wool Games. Chunky cardigans and bulky scarves would be in vogue again next winter.

Gods of the Stadium. Another indication that sports motifs never fades.

Mix and Don't Match. According to the description: "The aim of the game: to be in glorious discord!" Sounds good to me.

This brand has caught my eye - literally. I am very particular in purchasing sunglasses. There are a lot of brands of quality sunglasses for adults but I don't see much of them for kids. I would like to add these items on our collection in the near future.

It is usually a hassle for me to go to Soho but this time they made it easy to have a free shuttle that we can take from the Javits Center. I hope they would do it again next time.

Playtime is meant to be small but very well-edited. They weed out the riffraff so that boutique owners who don't have much free time ... are assured of a good selection. I'm sure they will always have that free shuttle. They offer it too in the Paris venue.

From the photos, Playtime Paris looked thrice bigger than NYC. It took us half a day to go around ENK but less an hour to walk around Playtime NYC. I would have skipped it too if not for the shuttle. Looking forward to the next trade show. :)

Yes the Paris show is bigger ... over 400 brands exhibit in Paris whereas there were only 75 collections in the New York show. I think the New York edition is more recent and still gaining momentum.

Thanks. Those Playtime photos were shot in Sony point and shoot lang. I usually use my Nikon D40 when I need something powerful. :)
